Sleater-Kinney come the punk rock trio from Olympia, Washington influenced by the riot grrrl movement of the 1990s. A title "Sleater-Kinney" is from either Sleater-Kinney Road within Lacey near Olympia, a location of one of the band's early practice spaces.

A band was founded by Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein. Presently, Janet Weiss (of Quasi) is the band's drummer.
Two Carrie & Corin play guitar. Although Sleater-Kinney has there are no bass player, Corin does play tuned down several steps, typically filling a equivalent role as a bass guitarist would. Corin Tucker was at one time in the influential Riot Grrrl band Heavens to Betsy. Carrie was erst in the queercore band Excuse 17. Now, likewise when performing by owning Sleater Kinney, Corin besides performs by having Cadallaca with Sarah Dougher (formerly of The Lookers). Around a recent locate, still, Corin told the public "not to hold [their] breath for a new Cadallaca album."
It has been announced that a class action is an opening work for Pearl Jam on the band's tour of Canada in September 2005.
In October 5th, 2005 it was announced that Sleater-Kinney would exist as a share of the line-higher for the 2006 Big Day Out festival.
